Training & Behavioural Services
I am qualified in Canine Behaviour and practice only positive, reward based, non-aversive methods. With any dog, I will work together with you to figure out not only how to help with the behaviour you're struggling with, but also figuring out why it's happening so that we can address the root cause of any issue.
I offer both 1-1 and group sessions to work on a huge range of issues including:
- Pulling on Lead
- Reactivity
- Puppy Training
- Recall
- General manners
- Jumping up/licking guests
- Destructive/Obsessive Behaviour
Training Walks
Training walks are carried out by myself where I take your dog on a walk and during the time we are out, I can work on a variety of issues directly with them. Training walks can be booked as a programme of 3 walks with me and potentially having the final session with the owner included to observe the progress and learn how to continue it. Training walks can be beneficial to help in addressing issues such as:
- Nervousness
- Pulling on lead
- Reactivity to dogs
- Reactivity to people/strangers
- Lunging at cars
- Puppy / adult dog socialisation
Puppy Classes
Our puppy classes are available to any breed of dog under 12 months old. They are taught basic commands and learn puppy manners and life skills as well as essential socialisation. All methods of training are positive, force free and rewards based. Classes are kept small so that you can get the most out of them. Classes run for 6 weeks and include topics such as:
- Recall
- Loose lead walking
- Puppy Positions
- Greetings
- Settle
- Stay/Wait
- Focus & Strengthening Owner Bond
Classes held in Cefn, St Asaph
Advanced Classes
Advanced classes are designed as a follow on from the puppy classes and build on skills already learned. This has no upper age limit and is open to any breed, size or age. This course covers:
- Scent work basics
- Avoiding distractions
- Teaching your dog a stronger recall
- Impulse control
- Building a bond with your dog
- Cementing previously learned commands.
